Stories from a Dark and Evil World

Cuentos del
mundo malevolo

by Teresa Pijoan
translated into Spanish by
Sharon Franco

6 x 9, $14.95 paper, 1-878610-71-6

In every religion, culture and language, the spirits of the dark side are as real as the spirits of the light. The simple sorrow of everyday life can trigger a visit from an evil spirit. Just as the good spirits come to our aid in time of trouble, these evil ones come to drive us further into the darkness of our despair. These are stories of the foreboding beings and presences who exist just outside our consciousness.

Author Teresa Pijoan was born near Española, New Mexico, the daughter of a doctor from Barcelona, Spain, and granddaughter of Spanish author Jose Pijoan. A speaker of Spanish and English, Pijoan is a national lecturer, research writer, college professor, and teacher who has graduated from the Doctoral program in Humanities from Columbia State University. She has performed, taught, and told stories at numerous colleges and institutions throughout the United States and Mexico, including the American Museum of Natural History in New York and the San Francisco Art Institute. Pijoan gives storytelling workshops and multicultural classes on the history of New Mexico. Other writings include four books on myths plus a murder mystery.
