Contemporary bilingual stories collected from day-to-day life by a master storyteller

when one least expects!

Stories come from the soul; the soul of the land, the souls of the people, the soul of the earth and the soul of the Great Spirits. Included in this book are stories which can scare you, make you laugh, bring joy and give the reader much to think about.

The range of the tales in this collection is quite remarkable, from a Magic Colt to Body Changing Spirits. They plumb the hidden recess of the human psyche.

Teresa Pijoan, author of La Cuentista: Traditional Tales in Spanish and English, returns to Red Crane with her second book of bilingual tales. A speaker of Spanish and English, Pijoan is a national lecturer, research writer, college professor, and teacher who has graduated from the Doctoral program in Humanities from Columbia State University. She has performed, taught, and told stories at numerous colleges and institutions throughout the United States and Mexico, including the American Museum of Natural History in New York and the San Francisco Art Institute. She is director of the Native American Story-Theater Troupe in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
