bilingual coming of age story loosely based on the Navajo legend of Changing
Woman, who has the power to regain her youth. Set in rural New Mexico, this
romance tells of a high school freshman who experiences her first love.
Woven into the narrative is her grandmother's recollection of her first
love. The similarity of experience creates a special bond between the two
of them. This story will appeal to adolescents because of the knowing rendition
of young love, told with innocence and firmly grounded in the family.
